Dogorithm - The Complete User Manual

What is Dogorithm?

Dogorithm is an intelligent, real-time project management platform designed for modern, distributed teams. Unlike traditional tools that feel static and disconnected, Dogorithm brings your work to life with live collaboration features that mimic the feeling of being in the same room.

What's new

Recent changes, newest first. The full manual below always describes the current product.

19 October 2026

  • Single sign-on (SAML): on Pro, workspace owners and admins can let people with the company's email sign in through Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, OneLogin or any SAML 2.0 provider, from Settings → Single sign-on. A DNS record proves the company owns the domain first. On the login page, choose Single sign-on (SSO) and enter your work email.
  • Cumulative flow: Board tools → Board analytics now shows a cumulative flow chart: how many tasks sat in each column each day, over 30 or 90 days. Daily counts start from today.
  • Dependency lines on the timeline: the Timeline view now lists linked tasks and draws an arrow from each prerequisite to the task waiting on it, in red when the prerequisite is due too late.
  • Automation branches: rules can now take an Else path when their conditions fail, and act on related tasks: the task's epic, the tasks in an epic, or the tasks it blocks.
  • Automation conditions: a rule can now include an If step with up to five checks that must all hold, such as "it has the label Bug", "nobody is assigned", "impact is at least 7" or "its title contains outage".
  • Dependencies across boards: a task can now wait on a task from any board in the same workspace. The dependency search shows matches from other boards, and the readiness check, the dependency chain and the "prerequisite finished" alerts all work across boards.
  • Two-step sign-in: in Settings → Account, turn on a second step for password sign-in: a 6-digit code from an authenticator app, with backup codes for a lost phone. The Change Password form there now works too, and signs you out on your other devices.
  • Audit log: workspace owners and admins can see who changed members, roles, billing, boards, chat channels, automations and webhooks, from Audit log on the workspace page, and download it as a spreadsheet.

  • Automations: Board tools → Automations sets up rules that act on their own. When a task is added, enters a column, is finished or passes its due date, a rule can assign someone, add a label, move the task, set a due date, comment, notify its assignees or post to the team's chat. Free boards hold three rules; Pro has no limit, and no plan limits how often they run.

  • Team chat: workspace owners and admins can send the workspace's news to a Slack, Microsoft Teams or Discord channel from the Chat button on the workspace page: finished and blocked tasks, cycles starting and closing, and standups starting.

  • List view: the List switch on a board now shows tasks as rows grouped by column, with a status menu on each row, folding groups, and the same filters and swimlanes as the board. The chosen view stays in the link. Task details and panels that load their content now open from the top and grow downward instead of jumping.

  • Cycles, epics and a timeline: plan work in cycles (time-boxed scopes, like sprints) from Board tools → Cycles: plan tasks in from the backlog, start the cycle, follow its burndown, and close it to move unfinished work to the next cycle. Mark any task as an epic and group tasks under it from any board in the workspace. A new Timeline view shows cycles, epics and due dates over twelve weeks, the filters can show the current cycle, the backlog or one epic, and swimlanes can group a board by epic. Jira imports now turn epics into epics.

  • Agents with a job: in task details, the ✨ button hands a task to the agent to Break it down (steps, acceptance criteria and an estimate), Draft it (a first draft as a comment), or Find what's blocking it. Triage my inbox with the agent sits on the morning brief, and Cmd/Ctrl + K adds Prepare my standup update and, on a board, Weekly review of this board. As always, you approve every change.

  • Ask Dogorithm: press Cmd/Ctrl + K and type a request in plain words, like "break down the launch email" or "move the overdue design tasks to next week". An agent reads your boards and lists the changes it would make. Nothing changes until you tick the ones you want and choose Apply, and one click undoes them.

  • Import from Jira: move a Jira project in one step. In Jira, export the issues as CSV (Filters → Export → Export Excel CSV (all fields)), then choose Settings → Integrations → Jira and upload the file. Statuses become columns, sub-tasks become checklist items, priorities set impact, comments come along, and sprints and epics become labels. Pick a workspace to match Jira assignees to your teammates by name. Story points, components and anything else without a Dogorithm field stay in each task's description, so nothing is lost.

  • Dogorithm vs Jira: a new public page, linked in the site footer, compares the two feature by feature and works out what your team would pay on each.

11 October 2026

  • Shortcuts sorted out: Cmd/Ctrl + K now opens only search, and Cmd/Ctrl + N opens one Quick Capture (on a board it adds to that board's Inbox). Before, Cmd+K opened search and Quick Capture on top of each other.
  • Repeating tasks, rebuilt: repeat daily, on weekdays, on chosen days of the week, every few weeks or months, on a day of the month or once a year, and end on a date or after a number of times. Only one task of a series is open at a time: finishing it creates the next, so unfinished copies no longer pile up. Skip one, change or stop the series from any of its tasks, or choose a repeat right in Quick Capture. Monthly tasks due on the 31st now stay on month ends instead of drifting. Existing repeating tasks were carried over.

  • Smoother everywhere: popups, menus and dialogs fade and zoom in and out instead of snapping, and switching between Show top three and Show all tasks folds tasks away while the rest glide into place. Motion turns off if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Dropdowns look the same everywhere: one size, an arrow that follows your theme, and a green focus ring. Board and workspace tool popups (Team Pulse, Labor Log, Meeting Audit, Role Clarity and others) now share one comfortable width.
  • Board header on phones fits on one row: Filter, Planning, Board tools and the Top 3 switch as icons, with + New task at the right edge.
  • Who else is here: the board header now names the other people on the board ("Ama and Kofi are here") and stays hidden when you're the only one.
  • In an accountability pod, your own check-in is listed first each week.
  • My tasks (Filter → Show): one click shows only the tasks you lead or contribute to.
  • Writing starters: writing tasks offer one-click first steps — Open the document, Write the worst first sentence, Outline for 5 minutes.
  • Progress Lens and Momentum Map on the dashboard: tasks you finished this week, month or quarter compared with the same point last time ("That's 4 more than by this point last month"), a 12-week chart and your run of weeks with finished work.
  • Flexible planning horizon: plan a board's primary goal by week, calendar month or a named project phase (Planning → Primary goal → Planning horizon).
  • Press Escape to close a task's details (the first press just leaves a text field).

4 October 2026

  • Accountability Pods (workspace toolbar → Pod): opt in to be matched with 2–3 teammates from the same workspace. Each week, set one small commitment, then mark it done or missed; only your pod sees it.
  • Labor Log (Board tools): your time on tasks labelled Out of scope, Unpaid or Service, with share of all logged time, per-task evidence, a copyable summary and a CSV download for advocacy.
  • Analytics charts redrawn: clearer velocity chart and a corrected impact/effort matrix; the focus heatmap now counts every day and fits its card.
  • Security updates to sign-in and the app framework, and open tabs now recover by themselves after a new version is released.

6 September 2026

  • Schedule a call from the calendar or the standup page: a one-time team call in the workspace room, with reminders, a Join button, and a calendar-file entry. Optionally invite specific people — only they are reminded and see it.
  • Several standup times per workspace ("Standup" 09:00 Mon–Fri, "Afternoon sync" 15:00 Tue/Thu…), all sharing the workspace's one room.
  • The calendar is editable: add a task on any day, drag a task to another day, or use Reschedule / Tomorrow in the day panel (the phone path).
  • Quick Capture has a due date and time picker; Magic Fill fills it in from your text.
  • Shared screen in calls now spans the full stage width.
  • Standup call controls are icon-only on phones so they line up.
  • This manual is published at /docs and updates with every release.

2 September 2026

  • Security and reliability pass: weekly digest scoped per person, OAuth connections protected against link hijacking, seat counting made exact, faster template and Trello imports, case-insensitive search, and dozens of smaller fixes.
  • Standup reminders and the database now sleep between events, keeping the free-tier database inside its monthly allowance.

🌟 Key Features

🧠 Core Philosophy

  • Impact-Based Prioritization: Rank tasks by value (1-10 Impact Score), not just urgency.
  • Deep Task Breakdown: Split complex projects into nestable "Micro-actions" with progress bars.
  • Quick Capture (Cmd+N): Instantly add tasks from anywhere in the app.

📹 Standup Video Room

  • Meetings inside Dogorithm: video calls per workspace with speaker rounds, screen sharing, chat, reactions, and raise hand.
  • Camera effects: background blur and hand-drawn scene backgrounds, plus meeting recording straight to a file.
  • Host controls: owners and admins can mute or remove participants for everyone.
  • Shareable join links plus calendar events and scheduled reminders.
  • Calls follow you: a floating dock with live video keeps the call going while you work the board — drag it anywhere or fold it to a chip.
  • Calls follow you everywhere: switch to Gmail or any other tab and the call pops out into a floating picture-in-picture window that stays on top of everything; other Dogorithm tabs show a "Call in progress" card with a one-click way back.
  • Voice calls: ring a teammate (or a small group) straight from the members list — they get a ringing card and a push, missed calls land in the bell, invites are signed so calls stay private to the people rung, and only the caller can withdraw a ring.

🖊️ Whiteboard

  • A shared brainstorming canvas per workspace: sticky notes with titles, freehand drawing, zoom and pan.
  • Live for the whole team: everyone sees notes appear, move, and change in real time.
  • Dot-voting: one vote per person per note to surface the best ideas.
  • Timed voting sessions: run a real vote — a budget per person, a countdown, blind counts while it runs, and a medal-ranked tally at the end.
  • Frames & presentation mode: group ideas into Miro-style frames, then present them one frame at a time with the arrow keys.

⚡ Real-time Collaboration

  • Live Sync: Boards update instantly for all users (No refreshing needed!).
  • Presence Awareness: See who is online and viewing the board.

🤖 AI Intelligence

  • Ask Dogorithm: an agent that reads your boards and proposes changes you approve, with one-click undo.
  • Smart Breakdown: AI automatically splits vague tasks into actionable steps.
  • Impact Suggestions: AI analyzes tasks to recommend an impact score.
  • Natural Language Entry: Type "Meeting tomorrow at 10am" and AI handles the scheduling.

🎮 Gamification

  • Productivity Score: Earn "Impact Points" for high-value work.
  • Streaks & Leaderboards: Compete with your team and build daily habits.
  • Achievements: Unlock badges for milestones.

🔌 Powerful Integrations

  • Outlook: Two-way calendar sync.
